HOW DO I KNOW IF I NEED A TEST?

Upon scheduling your surgical procedure, your surgeon will alert you if a COVID-19 test is required. 

CAN I JUST WALK IN FOR MY TEST?

No. All COVID-19 testing at ExpressMED/BOAC clinics require an appointment in advance.

HOW DO I SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT?

If you are having surgery at BASC, NASC or Orchard Surgical Center, your surgeon will fax the testing order to ExpressMED/BOAC and our scheduling team will call you to schedule your appointment.

WHAT IF I’M HAVING SURGERY ELSEWHERE?

If your procedure is happening at another hospital or surgery center, your surgeon’s scheduling office should fax a COVID-19 Testing order to ExpressMED/BOAC. Once we receive the order, our scheduling team will call you to make an appointment for your COVID-19 test.

I HAVEN’T RECEIVED A CALL TO SCHEDULE MY APPOINTMENT. WHAT DO I DO?

If your surgery has been scheduled for more than 48 hours and you have not received a call from ExpressMED/BOAC, please call the clinic to speak with our COVID-19 Testing scheduling department.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING TO MY APPOINTMENT?

You can download your required forms by clicking on the link below. Have them filled out ahead of time to streamline your registration process. Make sure that you have your photo ID and insurance card ready when you arrive.

WHAT DO I DO WHEN I ARRIVE AT THE CLINIC?

Pull into the parking lot of the ExpressMED/BOAC Clinic and call the clinic main line to let them know that you’re there for a COVID-19 test appointment. If you have not already completed your paperwork, you will be asked to fill out the appropriate registration forms. You may be asked to remain in your vehicle for car-side service or to come into the clinic for your test.

Your employer should alert you if you are required to have a negative COVID-19 test in order to return to work.

HOW DO I KNOW IF I NEED AN EXAM?

In some cases (i.e. past COVID-19 positive test, exposure, symptomatic patients), your employer may also require you to pass a return-to-work exam by one of our licensed medical providers.

HOW DO I SCHEDULE A RETURN-TO-WORK COVID-19 TEST?

In order to schedule your COVID-19 test for return-to-work, call an ExpressMED/BOAC clinic and you will be transferred to our dedicated COVID-19 scheduling department to get scheduled.

HOW DO I SCHEDULE A RETURN-TO-WORK EXAM IN THE CLINIC?

If you prefer to come into our clinic for your return-to-work exam, call an ExpressMED/BOAC clinic and speak with our team. Let them know you need to schedule a return-to-work exam and they will be able to assist you.

DO I NEED A REFERRAL?

No. However, one of our licensed medical providers will screen you prior to your test.

WHAT TYPES OF TESTS DO YOU DO?

We currently do the Rapid Test and the lab-based PCR test. The Rapid test gives you results within 30 minutes. The lab-based test results vary due to fluxuating lab volume. Those results take 2-7 days. We also perform the anti-body test (which is a blood test).

HOW DO I SCHEDULE A TEST?

Please complete our online request form and someone from our scheduling department will contact you. You can expect a response within 24-48 hours of your request. At this time, we can not accomodate same-day test requests.

I AM SYMPTOMATIC OR HAVE HAD A CONFIRMED EXPOSURE – WHAT DO I DO?

You should monitor your symptoms carefully and be sure to convey any information about your symptoms or exposure to our staff prior to your appointment. Patients with COVID-like symptoms or those who have had a confirmed exposure will be screened car-side.

WHAT TYPE OF TEST DO I NEED?

Depending on your reason for being tested, you may require to have the nasal-pharyngeal swap (lab-based) test. If you are traveling or require this test for surgery, back to school or return to work, please confirm the type of test required for clearance prior to scheduling your appointment.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING TO MY APPOINTMENT?

All patients will need a valid photo ID and their insurance card (if applicable) at the time of their appointment. It is also helpful to complete your registration paperwork ahead of time. If you have access to a computer, you can download the forms, fill them out and bring them with you.

HOW/WHEN WILL I GET MY RESULTS?

Rapid Test results are available within 30 minutes of the test. You can wait and the results will be handed to you or request that the results be sent securely to you or to a doctor, employer or school. Lab-based tests may take anywhere from 2-7 days for results to process. Once your results have processed, ExpressMED/BOAC will contact you with the results. You can also request that the results be sent securely to a doctor, employer or school.
